Lilium’s investment in a clean future for air travel

With the electric VTOL market expecting to grow from $1.2 billion in 2023 to $23.4 billion by 2030 and $1 trillion by 2040, it is a no-brainer that investors will flock 🦢to the innovators and manufacturers in this sector.

Lilium has been a pioneer in all-electric VTOL aircraft. Founded by 4 bright engineers and university PhD students at the Technical University of Munich in 2015, in these 9 years they have progressed from an idea to getting a luxurious aircraft up in the air, as well as getting orders from across the world, such as Saudi Arabia.

In the Oct 29, 2024 SEC filing, Lilium stated that they received notice from Nasdaq that per Listing rule 5101, Lilium stock will be delisted from trading on Nasdaq. Lilium has until November 4th to appeal this decision:

the Company received a written notice from the staff of the Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Department (the “Staff”) on October 28,
2024, following the Subsidiaries’ applications for insolvency and self-administration proceedings, notifying the Company that, in accordance with Nasdaq
Listing Rule 5101, the trading of the Company’s Class A ordinary shares and warrants will be suspended at the opening of business on November 6, 2024,
and a Form 25 Notification of Delisting will be filed with the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) to delist the Company’s securities from
the Nasdaq Global Select Market (“Nasdaq”). The Staff’s determination was based on the associated public interest concerns raised by the Company’s
announcement that the Subsidiaries had filed for insolvency in the local court of Weilheim in Germany and applied for self-administration proceedings
pursuant to Section 270(a) of the German Insolvency Code. The Company can appeal this determination by no later than November 4, 2024.

Why is there not the same amount of private investment for Lilium as with other electric VTOL manufacturers such as Joby and Archer? Why is there a lack of German government investment compared to the Brazilian government’s investment in electric VTOL manufactures such as EVE Air Mobility? The German government is clearly acting less like a bird of flight,🦢 flocking to the future of air travel, and more like an ostrich 𓅦 sticking its head in the sand.

The future of clean air travel has a big sky, and plenty of room for all manufacturers. While the phrase “pie in the sky” means something promised that’s unlikely, this $1 trillion pie, is in the sky and very real (ask Morgan Stanley)! Whether they are air taxis like Beta Technologies, Archer, EVE, Joby, or inter-city and long commuter aircraft like Lilium and Electra, these manufactures deserve investment. It’s an investment in our future and planet!
