Republic Airlines to use BETA Technologies electric Alia CX300 for training and evaluation

On June 16tth at the 2025 Paris Air Show, Republic Airlines and BETA Technologies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in which Republic Airlines will purchase of at least one BETA electric Alia CX300. Republic will use these electric aircraft to training and evaluating future use in passenger and cargo services.

Recently BETA Technologies has taken its Alia CX300 CTOL aircraft on a European tour around the Ireland and the UK before stopping at the Paris Air Show, with the ultimate destination being Norway, where Bristow Group will be evaluating BETA’s electric aircraft along with Avinor and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority.

Being an airplane, the Alia CX300 has less novel characteristics to regulate and approve compared to eVTOLs. Kyle Clark, Founder and CEO of BETA Technologies anticipates that the regulatory obstacles for the Alia CX300 CTOL aircraft will be faster and simpler to accomplish than rival eVTOL models, noting that even BETA’s VTOL aircraft is very similar to the CTOL version and should also reach the market sooner than its peers.

By leveraging the expertise from its CTOL business, BETA Technologies will lay a great foundation for its VTOL products

Fuel Savings

On June 3rd 2025, an Alia C300 landed in New York JKF International Airport from East Hampton. BETA’s electric CTOL aircraft consumed only $7 worth of electrical power versus the several hundreds of dollars of fuel required by a helicopter.
